The George Hull Centre Institute of Childhood Trauma and Attachment

Dedicated to transforming how child and youth-serving sectors respond to children and youth who have experienced traumatic experiences and attachment disruptions, the Institute aims to elevate practise in child and youth-serving sectors by contributing to research, advocating for appropriate treatment of traumatized children and youth, and disseminating training and knowledge across the province.

 

SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health (CCMH) Learning Institute

A leader in mental health training and education

SickKids CCMH Learning Institute provides relevant, high quality, evidence-based learning opportunities for professionals to advance best practices in mental health care. SickKids CCMH work with expert facilitators to offer programming that supports clients of all ages – promoting mental health across the life span.

 

SickKids Infant and Early Mental Health Promotion (IEMHP)

Infant and Early Mental Health Promotion (IEMHP) is a national organization that improves outcomes across the lifespan by translating and promoting the science of early mental health into practice with families during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood. IEMHP connects practitioners to best and emerging practices, topic experts, and access to resources that support the diverse and unique needs of infants, young children, and their families. Umind

A free, online resource connecting an international community of child and youth mental health professionals so that they may provide better services to children, youth, and families. Launched in 2013, Umind shines a light on promising practices in child and youth mental health through its webinars, site visits, training opportunities and most significantly, a Professional Resource Library of nearly 1,000 practical resources contributed by 120+ organizations across Canada and the United States.

Windz Institute

Windz Institute is operated by ROCK Reach Out Centre for Kids’ Centre of Learning and is located in Oakville, Ontario. The Institute offers advanced training and education based on innovative knowledge and practice-based research. The workshops, certificate programs and conferences reflect collaborative, strength oriented ideas and practices that address current service gaps and social issues.
 
In order to offer the highest quality and most current training available, the faculty and adjunct faculty team are comprised of locally and internationally renowned teachers and trainers.

Solutions on Site

Solutions On Site delivers targeted training opportunities designed to complement and enhance the skill sets of social workers, therapists, psychologists, mental health care providers, child & youth workers, chaplains, front line providers and other professionals in Health, Social and Human Services.

Safeguards Training for Children and Adult Services

Safeguards is a unique training program that was designed to meet the highly specialized training needs of staff serving vulnerable children, youth, adults and families in Ontario. To remain responsive to changing training needs and evidence-based practice training, Safeguards develops customized and in-service training and a new provincial training program each year.

Oshawa Psychotherapy Training Institute

Oshawa Psychotherapy Training Institute offers quality, evidence-based clinical training workshops and invaluable peer support networks for mental health practitioners with diverse professional backgrounds and experiences. We use a holistic, clinician-centred training approach, focusing on practitioners’ professional and personal growth needs. The Institute’s presenters are seasoned practitioners and leaders in their respective fields. Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP)

The OACCPP is an incorporated professional association formed in 1978 to represent providers of mental health services in the general areas of consulting, counselling, psychoeducational assessment and psychotherapy. Members work in a variety of settings which include clinics, hospitals, colleges, school boards, counselling and psychotherapy centres, municipal EAP’s, business and industry. About 60% are in private practice. Current membership is approximately 1900.

Leading Edge Seminars Inc.

Leading Edge Seminars has provided professional development and continuing education for mental health professionals in Toronto for over 20 years. 30-40 workshops are presented every year. Topics include: anxiety, depression, trauma, CBT, mindfulness, applications of neuroplasticity in counselling, working with children, couples therapy and much more. Click here for current series. 

Faculty of Social Work Professional Development program, Wilfrid Laurier University

The Faculty of Social Work Professional Development program at Wilfrid Laurier University is designed to meet the continuing education needs of those in the helping professions, including social work, social services, healthcare, child and youth, education, law enforcement and pastoral care. All of our courses are facilitated by instructors who bring years of experience and practice to the classroom. Participants will get not only facts and theories, but also the learned experiences of the instructor and other students to create the whole picture.
