Director, Client Services and Quality Improvement
Full Time, 35 hours a week


Central Toronto Youth Services is an award winning non-for-profit community-based accredited Children’s Mental Health organization that serves Toronto’s most vulnerable youth ages 13- 17 and young adults ages 18 -24 and their families across Toronto. As part of the community since 1973, CTYS provides equitable evidence-informed mental health services to youth and young adults, their families and greater community including R.I.T.E.S., Day Programs, Pride and Prejudice Programs, Youth Justice and Family Outreach Programs, Community and School Outreach Programs, Early Intervention Programs, and Transitional Aged Youth Programs. CTYS is primarily funded by the Government of Ontario via the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health.


CTYS is looking for a dynamic and engaging person who values service excellence and sector leadership and will take CTYS to the next level in quality improvement and client services development. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will be a proven and experienced leader with a strong understanding of clinical services operations and strategic improvement initiatives best practices, posses a deep understanding of the social determinants of health, and be aware of systemic barriers to service, and have expertise in trauma-informed clinical practices and deep and abiding commitment to advancing reconciliation, equity, diversity and inclusion in all its forms. As Director, Client Services and Quality Improvement you will have expertise in all aspects of leading and evaluation of clinical programs and services, providing strategic and value-driven recommendations to Senior Leadership and Management Teams.

This role needs a driven and articulate professional with an ability to forge effective relationships and partnerships. This role will play a pivotal role in day-to day clinical services operations and strategic improvement initiatives, which will include supervision of managers of Client Services, ensure that CTYS policies, practices, and procedures are responsive and proactive in nature to the organization’s, ministries, and legislative mandates, and ensure that suitable therapeutic intervention methods are used within the larger clinical framework of CTYS, employing various evidence-based or informed practices.

▪ 5+ years’ management experience in clinical operations, implementation, and service development ideally in the mental health or social services fields, or other relevant management experience
▪ Several years of experience with labour and employee relations, or relevant working experience in a unionized environment

▪ Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field
▪ Membership with professional regulatory body

▪ Demonstrated skills in mental health treatment and support for adolescents and transitional age youth, youth at risk, and marginalized and racialized communities
▪ Highly developed technical and analytical skills with ability to use expert level judgment for strategic thinking and problem solving
▪ Experience developing and managing budgets and preparing business plans
▪ Highly effective decision-making skills, adaptive and flexible with strong clinical and operational capabilities.
▪ Strong people management with experience building, motivating, mentoring and coaching a diverse high-performing teams
▪ Superior communication skills including the ability to succinctly convey complex ideas to create clarity with diverse audiences with varying levels of issue expertise and understanding
▪ Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse background and experiences
▪ Strong proficiency with MS Office suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)

CTYS offers competitive compensation ($88,000 – $106,000), plus employer paid group health benefits, vacation, and personal leave and FL days.
