The new Community Services department is currently in transition to a fully integrated service model, providing the delivery of community services that support infants, children, youth, and their families. These roles are responsible for overseeing community outreach, engagement, early intervention, speech-language pathology services and community supports; and providing program and administrative supervision of managers who directly supervise child and youth workers, community workers, early childhood educators/therapists, speech and language pathologists, family and individual therapists, peers and youth leaders, administrative support staff and indirect staff from a broad range of partnerships that provide collaborative service delivery.
There are two permanent full-time positions available.
Strides Toronto is a multi-service agency providing services to young people from birth to age 29 and their families in East Toronto. Formed in January 2020 through the amalgamation of Aisling Discoveries and East Metro Youth Services, Strides Toronto provides a range of community, residential and treatment services to improve the mental, social, and physical health of infants, children, youth and their families. We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support.
As Lead Agency for infant, child and youth mental health in Toronto, Strides Toronto works with 25 core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that transform access to services, experience of services and the mental health outcomes for Toronto’s diverse communities.
Strides Toronto has a budget of $30 million and more than 350 employees providing services out of 19 locations across East Toronto. The organization Is accredited by the Centre for Accreditation and the predecessor organizations have a long history of providing high-quality services in East Toronto.

What will you do?
Manage the planning, development and implementation of Strides Toronto’s community services and identify new program needs.
Build effective service teams that demonstrate commitment to agency values, continuous learning, quality improvement, innovation, and adaptation to change.
Create synergies between programs within the portfolio and other programs.
· Develop service goals for Strides Toronto’s annual Operational Plan and provide input to the development of short- and long-range agency goals.
Participate in the development of program policies and reviews, revise and develop procedures and practices to meet operational requirements.
Provide service direction, guidance, and support to managerial staff within a multidisciplinary approach to ensure quality service to clients.
· Assist in the development and implementation of program evaluation in collaboration with managers, Director Community Services and the Director Strategy, Quality and Planning.
· Prepare written proposals regarding program development initiatives.
· Develop and monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Director.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community agencies and organizations to ensure outreach, coordination, and integration of Strides Toronto services with other community resources.
· Provide on-call service including timely completion of serious occurrence reports as required.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in the human services field (social work, psychology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, etc.),
A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
Five years related community services experience.
Five years of demonstrated exemplary performance in a program and administrative supervisory capacity, including program development, implementation, and evaluation.
An ability to motivate managers and staff to provide high quality services to children, youth and families while building a strong, cohesive team.
A thorough knowledge of service delivery and management theories and practices, as well as related legislation.
Strong abstract and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in initiating, developing, and maintaining portfolio partnership relationships.
Strong data management and reporting management skills for a richly diverse and complex reporting environment.
Excellent planning, organizational and administrative skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the community served by Strides Toronto and a demonstrated understanding of access and diversity, equity and inclusion issues and awareness and sensitivity to diversity in the workplace and within the community.
Awareness, training, knowledge, and experience in providing a range of services to culturally and racially diverse communities.
A valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a car.
Fluency in another language(s).
A registered member in good standing with a relevant regulated health profession.
The ability to perform the act of psychotherapy and to provide clinical supervision to psychotherapists.
Knowledge of project management and/or change management methodologies.
