Announcement from the CMHO Board of Directors

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO), we would like to share the news that our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tatum Wilson, will be resigning effective January 12, 2026, to take on a new leadership opportunity as the CEO of Youthdale Treatment Centres—a CMHO member organization.

This announcement comes with many feelings. While we are sincerely sad to see Tatum leave CMHO, we also recognize that this next role represents a meaningful next step in his career—one that will allow him to continue advancing mental health care for children, youth, and families in Ontario.

During his tenure at CMHO, Tatum has made a significant impact on the association and on the broader child and youth mental health sector. Under his leadership, CMHO strengthened its advocacy efforts, deepened government and sector partnerships, and sharpened its strategic focus on system transformation, equity, and improved access to care. Tatum also played a key role in building and supporting a strong and dedicated CMHO team, whose commitment and talent continue to position the organization for success.

The Board extends its deep appreciation to Tatum for his leadership, dedication, and passion for improving mental health outcomes for young people across the province. We wish him every success as he steps into his new role at Youthdale Treatment Centres.

In the coming days, the CMHO Board will initiate a formal search process to identify the next CEO who will continue advancing our mission and supporting Ontario’s child and youth mental health system.

Sincerely,
Bashar Alrehany, Board Chair, Children’s Mental Health Ontario
