Destination Engagement demonstrates the journey an organization has undertaken to embed family voice, perspective, and expertise in every level of service delivery. The presentation will include discussions about how to embed co-creation in your organization; understanding the job descriptions, training and orientation required to hire family experts as part of your organizational staff; and illustrate the value and importance of family voice across all levels of organizational and system planning.

Presenters:

Sarah Cannon (Pathstone Mental Health)
Sarah has been a long-time advocate for the importance of family voice and expertise being embedded in the child and youth mental health system. Before moving to Pathstone, Sarah was the Executive Director of Parents for Children’s Mental Health for 20 years. Here she began her work in family engagement. Strong partnerships with the Knowledge Institute for Children and Youth Mental Health and government allowed the Province to begin to recognize the importance of family voice.

Erin Clayton (Pathstone Mental Health)
Erin is a Registered Social Worker and Psycotherapist. She has been practicing in the filed of mental health for over 25 years, and currently practices in the Niagara Region. She is the Director of Quality Assurance, Research, and Planning at Pathstone. Her career began in agencies across the GTA including children’s mental health and autism services. Erin has worked across various populations including chidden, youth, and adults. Her recent focus has been on macro level change leading the strategic planning direction for Pathstone as well as developing family engagement practices. Erin is passionate about timely, effective services for all.
