Manager, Client Services
Full Time Permanent – 35 hours a week
This is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to a progressive, innovative management team. CTYS is an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre with a range of services and programs for youth and families across Toronto. The agency is committed to an inclusive, equity based anti-racist framework embedded as a key value in all we do. As a manager you are the key to support our staff, rich team development and most importantly our clients who present with multiple experiences of intersectional trauma, racism and systemic challenges. These services are client centered and flexible and geared for youth and families with a range of mental health needs who may have difficulty accessing traditional office-based services. Youth and family services are provided in person in the office, virtually, in schools and community settings.
You will provide direct support to talented, passionate, dedicated teams, who provide mental health support and psychotherapeutic interventions to youth and caregivers. The programs include a Day Program in partnership with the TDSB, the Youth Hostel Outreach Program (YHOP), the Community Support & Intervention program (CSI) and the Community Support Program. Reporting Relationship: Managing Director, Service Excellence & Equity
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct clinical supervision and support to staff, facilitating regular team meetings and clinical consultations.
- Oversee staff onboarding, professional development, and clinical growth, ensuring accountability in administrative tasks and responsibilities.
- Support staff in navigating acute and emerging client-related crises as needed.
- Support Anti Oppression, Equity & ABR Management Leadership Initiatives
- Advocate for staff around equity and social justice issues, promoting social/racial justice as central to the work.
- Lead and maintain high-functioning staff teams, overseeing all administrative functions.
- Build and sustain positive, collaborative relationships with communities, mental health providers, crisis services, hospitals, and educational settings.
- Ensure clinical services are delivered in a manner consistent with all applicable agency policies and procedures and accreditation standards.
- Participate in the review, development and implementation of new policies, technology, and processes as needed (e.g. for accreditation).
- Ensure clinical services align with agency policies, procedures, and accreditation standards, and participate in policy, technology, and process development.
- Champion the implementation of measurement-based care tools and processes.
- Act as the Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) instructor for the agency.
- Provide clinical and/or administrative coverage for other CTYS programs as needed.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Graduate degree (or equivalent) in social work or related field.
- Membership in the appropriate professional regulatory body (RSW/RP).
- 2 years of experience in the Children’s Mental Health sector.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Clinical expertise in supporting therapists with trauma-informed individual and family interventions, including brief models for youth and caregivers.
- Clinical understanding of attachment based therapeutic approaches.
- Commitment to Anti-Oppression, Equity, ABR, and Trauma-Informed frameworks.
- Experience supervising/implementing psychoeducational & therapeutic groups for youth.
- Strong proficiency in computers and client database software.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with an ability to hold ‘the big picture’ in mind.]
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clear vulnerable sector screening required.
Assets:
- Identification with and/or Experience supporting BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
- Management experience.
- Clinical expertise in trauma-informed therapy, attachment-based approaches, and brief therapeutic models.
- Experience navigating child welfare and education systems and supervising therapeutic groups.
- Commitment to Evidence-Informed Practices.
- Proficiency in French.
Start Date: May 2025
Competitive Salary & Benefit Package includes 15 personal days, 2 additional cultural /religious personal days, 7 educational days, 15 vacation days, as well as extended health, dental and RRSP contributions paid by the employer.
